When it comes to eating, Nathan has gotten rather independent. He really wants to feed himself. I have been reluctant to let go of the spoon for fear of the potential mess. So when it is time to eat I spread his food on toast and cut it into strips so he can feed himself with minimal mess. Today I decided to give him a chance with the spoon. To my suprise he actually understands how the spoon works and sort of where to put the food. Practice makes perfect and in this case a mess.
